Cabana Bay vs Aventura

Published by BetterSIM LLC · Published and facts checked

The practical answer

Start with Cabana Bay for a six-person family suite, or Aventura for a four-person standard room or selected five-person kids’ suite. Decide on the bed layout before theme or a small rate difference.

The room arrangement is the first filter

A family of six can use Cabana Bay’s reviewed family suite, with two queens and a sleeper sofa. Aventura’s reviewed kids’ suite sleeps five; its standard two-queen room sleeps four. A six-person group should not be sent to an Aventura standard room or kids’ suite.

For a smaller party, compare the modern style of Aventura with Cabana Bay’s retro setting and the full quote. Neither includes Express, so hotel theme alone does not create a hidden pass saving.

Two kinds of sleeping separation

Cabana Bay’s 430-square-foot family suite uses a sliding privacy partition between the sleeping and living areas. Its full-size sofa becomes part of the sleeping plan for a full six-person occupancy. Aventura’s 575-square-foot kids’ suite has a king, two twins and a sleeper sofa, with a separate interior kids’ area.

Neither description should be read as a promise of two fully enclosed bedrooms. Families with different bedtimes should inspect the operator layout and work out who sleeps on the sofa. If an enclosed bedroom and three queen beds matter, compare Surfside and Dockside.

The Volcano Bay location needs a date check

Both have published walking access to Volcano Bay when it operates. The operator announces a seasonal closure beginning October 26, 2026, with reopening expected on or before April 1, 2027; walking paths will be unavailable during the closure.

For those dates, remove water-park walking convenience from the premium you are willing to pay. Hotel recreation and room fit can still matter, but do not buy proximity to an unavailable park experience.

Transport and passes

Plan resort transport for other park days. We do not list Aventura as a water-taxi hotel simply because another hotel nearby offers that service. No included Express comes with either property; price only the passes you actually intend to purchase.

What would make us choose each?

Choose Cabana Bay when the six-person family suite fits the group’s sleeping routine and the total quote works. Choose Aventura when the specific standard room or kids’ suite arrangement is preferable for a smaller party. For bathroom bottlenecks, compare two rooms using the cost calculator.

Read Cabana Bay’s room guide and Aventura’s room guide before checking dates.
