The formula, in plain sight.

Accommodation = nightly per-room quote × rooms × nights, or the whole-stay quote exactly once. Add excluded accommodation tax, excluded mandatory fees, parking and paid transport. Then add optional uncovered Express spending.

For a per-person/day Express quote: uncovered pass cost = price × (travelers × eligible-park days − confirmed covered guest-days). We only subtract coverage at a verified eligible hotel after your confirmation. Coverage cannot exceed actual eligible park days or nights plus one. Epic and Volcano Bay pass costs are always separate.

If Express would not otherwise be purchased, its assumed cash saving and pass spend are zero. With a trip-total pass quote, supply the total for uncovered passes and set eligible guests to zero to avoid double-counting coverage.

A worked example

Hypothetical Option A: $450 × one room × three nights = $1,350. With excluded tax at 12.5%, the hotel total is $1,518.75. Option B: $220 × one room × three nights = $660; with the same tax, $742.50. With no confirmed coverage entered, four travelers × two days × $150 adds $1,200 to each: $2,718.75 versus $1,942.50.

If all four travelers are confirmed eligible at Option A for both park days, A’s total becomes $1,518.75, which is $423.75 below B. If the group would not buy Express, B is $776.25 lower. Parking, transfers, fees and Epic passes are zero in this example.

Limits worth keeping in the comparison

This calculator does not verify room availability, date-specific pass prices, occupancy, provider terms or a live booking. Confirm all of these yourself. It compares equal-length stays and does not merge split-stay calendars. For differing per-day pass prices, calculate the uncovered pass total first and use the trip-total option.
