Which Universal hotels include Express?

Published by BetterSIM LLC · Published and facts checked

The practical answer

Royal Pacific, Hard Rock and Portofino Bay include eligible Express Unlimited access at Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. Epic Universe and Volcano Bay are excluded. Compare the hotel premium with passes you would otherwise buy.

The direct answer

The three included-Express hotels are Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. Their benefit covers participating attractions in Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, with separate valid park admission required.

Helios Grand and Sapphire Falls do not acquire that benefit just by belonging to the Signature Collection. Hotel tier is an unreliable shortcut for this decision.

What is excluded?

The included benefit is not valid at Epic Universe, Volcano Bay or separately ticketed events. Selected attraction exclusions and operating restrictions apply. Express reduces the queue relative to the regular line; it is not a guaranteed wait time or an appointment.

Early Park Admission is different: it is a schedule-dependent opportunity to enter an eligible park early. It does not turn into all-day Express and does not replace the ticket requirement.

Which guests and dates count?

The benefit applies to guests registered in the eligible hotel room within its allowed occupancy. Loews states that the room-key benefit begins when the key is issued and continues through park closing on checkout day. Your arrival time and actual park itinerary still matter.

Do not count unregistered travelers or assume a room can hold more guests because a calculator accepts a number. Confirm the room, guests, check-in and checkout dates with the hotel. Our calculator asks you to confirm eligibility before applying the inclusion and limits covered days to the stay’s nights plus one.

When paying more can make sense

First decide whether your group would purchase Express without the hotel inclusion. If the answer is no, the assumed cash saving is zero. You can still value the convenience, but call that a preference rather than money saved.

If you would buy it, obtain the current pass price for the same dates, people and parks. Compare the eligible hotel’s total with the alternative hotel plus those passes. Do not reuse an advertised average or starting price as your quote.

A hypothetical illustration: four travelers buying a $150 per-person/day pass for two eligible park days would spend $1,200. A hotel that costs $600 more overall could be cheaper in that specific purchase scenario. If the same group would skip Express, the hotel still costs $600 more. These figures are invented to show the logic, not current rates.

Compare the whole accommodation choice

A family suite at one hotel may compete with two rooms at an Express hotel. Include both rooms, taxes, parking and bed charges. Check cancellation terms because the flexibility of the booking has value too.

Use the total-cost calculator, then compare Royal Pacific and Hard Rock or Royal Pacific and Portofino. For mixed Epic and original-park days, start with Helios versus Royal Pacific.
